Trakaro: Sustainable Travels joins MakeSense Academy

MAKATI CITY, 2019 – On May 15th, Trakaro: Sustainable Travels is announced as one of the 7 new Social Enterprise startups under the Makesense academy.


Trakaro, a startup under the Kezar Innovations group, had been very much successful last year on its mission of making Sustainablity "mainstream". Trakaro had recently announced that over 100 different establishments such as restaurants, hotels, and tour operators have on-boarded onto the platform. With regards to the technology, Trakaro has already launched their application on both Apple Store and Google Play Store, making sustainable travel options more accessible with their platform.


Trakaro’s Co-Founder, Paul Galacan, states that the MakeSense incubation program will help give Trakaro the jumpstart that it needs in order to bring about more awareness to the readily-available mobile application.


Trakaro and MakeSense share common views and goals towards developing solutions towards creating a positive social and environmental impact with social entrepreneurship. Trakaro has been very visible within the past year of its operations, gaining traction with establishments across the nation, participating in seminars for sustainability, and joining incubation programs, such as MakeSense Academy. With this incubation program, Trakaro sees the emergence of sustainable travelers in the country through the use of their mobile applications.

A total of 93 startups applied to be incubated for the 2nd batch of MakeSense Academy’s incubation program, and only 7 were chosen to be incubated.


Joining Trakaro: Sustainable Travels were Gree-ne-las, Terra Mushrooms, Husay Co, ListenHear, Likhaya, and Old Manila Eco Market.


The MakeSense Academy Incubation Program is an equity-free 7-month incubation program for an early-stage social startup. The incubation program will provide incubatees with training, allowances, mentorships, office space, as well as connections and a community to further scale their startup.
